WhoSampled.com just posted that the songwriter and singer Abęl Tesfaye, known as 'The Weeknd' sampled Sandpaper Kisses from Martina in his debut album 'Trilogy'. The song called 'The Birds Pt.2', samples the main melody in the entire song and samples a pitch shifted voice of Martina singing the chorus. The song sounds acceptable, despite the explicit lyrics, and the fact that you can hear a sad crying woman and the shot of a gun 'silencing' the woman's tears at the beginning (What is implying?). Of course, this samples are used under permission and the credits of Sandpaper Kisses appears in the album booklet.

This is not the first time someone samples Sandpaper Kisses, there are many songs using it out there, like the song from the reggae singer Stephen Marley (Yes, the son of Bob Marley) composed a great track titled 'You're Gonna Leave' mixing the melody with the original voice of Martina singing the chorus.
